High Point Regional Hospital Health System of North Carolina selects ChartMaxx as its electronic patient record solution

Cincinnati 19 July 2004High Point Regional Hospital Health System of High Point, North Carolina has selected ChartMaxx, developed by MedPlus, the health care information technology subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, as its enterprise-wide electronic patient record solution.


"Our goal was to find a user-friendly system for the clinical user, yet retain all of the functionality needed within the Medical Records Department", stated Patty Banton, Director of Medical Records at High Point Regional Hospital Health System. "One key selling point for MedPlus was the diminished need for Information Technology personnel to maintain the system. I like the idea that the Medical Records staff is able to upkeep the system and design/redesign as needed, with low reliance on the Information Technology department."

ChartMaxx is an enterprise-wide electronic patient record solution, which enables organisations to create and manage an electronic repository comprised of clinical, financial and administrative information. Immediate, concurrent access to information makes ChartMaxx a key component in efficient management of patient records. The solution provides the tools hospitals need to accelerate turnaround time for chart completion, introduce electronic patient registration, utilize remote coding, automate release of information and maximize electronic information access across the entire facility.

High Point Regional will fully deploy ChartMaxx within its Medical Records department, allowing the Medical Records staff to utilize the system's user-friendly features to input and retrieve important patient information instantly and accurately. Other departments across the facility will also have access to the information within ChartMaxx. Physicians will be able to access their patients' charts from their home or office via the Internet.
