Available as an enhancement to the AXIOM Artis dFA, dTA and dBA systems, DynaCT allows clinicians to perform ACT directly in the angio suite, therefore supporting more informed decision-making capabilities and treatment planning. Additionally, with the ability to perform ACT directly on the AXIOM Artis FD system, DynaCT virtually eliminates unnecessary patient transfers to other modalities for follow-up procedures. This greatly reduces the need to move the patient out of the sterile environment, delivering a full "one-stop-shopping" capability.
"The DynaCT enhancement for our AXIOM Artis product line is expected to have a significant impact on clinicians' ability to diagnose and treat stroke patients when time is of the essence", stated Manfred Fink, vice president, Angiography and X-ray Division, Siemens Medical Solutions. "The technology will also benefit patients for body-interventional procedures and image guided tumour therapy. Physicians and hospitals will be able to obtain CT-like images without the additional need of CT systems to be used as interventional tool."
DynaCT utilizes ACT to obtain images through DYNAVISION-based rotational angiography, which is provided by the AXIOM Artis FD systems. Image acquisition can be achieved with a 10 second C-arm spin. The volume set is then reconstructed on Siemens' LEONARDO workstation and available for assessment within a short period of time. DynaCT delivers soft tissue images that enable visualization of tissue differentiation in the range of 10 HU (Hounsfield Units), giving the ability to visualize soft tissue abnormalities such as abdominal tumors as well as cerebral haemorrhaging.
AXIOM Artis also offers enhanced image quality and dose reduction, optimal connectivity and improved work flow. The technology provides a fully integrated LEONARDO 3D and multi-modality workstation, and can be controlled and accessed from the control room as well as from tableside. AXIOM Artis and Leonardo workstations offer the unique syngo, Siemens user interface which allows easy-to-use application and post-processing.
Siemens angiography and X-ray technologies are supported by the company's Service Organisation and Accessories Solutions group to ensure that customers get the most out of the technology, thus maximizing return on investment.
