Energid's Virtual Reality training system currently in development teaches surgeons and other health care professionals by allowing them to practise procedures on simulated virtual patients. It provides a natural interface to trainees using a high fidelity virtual human patient model and patent pending visual surgical tool tracking and maglev haptic feedback. The surgical simulator can model surgical errors and complications during the training process and will support training, planning, and rehearsal.
"Energid is pleased with the agreement and excited about introducing our innovative medical training technology to the greater China market", stated Dr. John Hu, Director of Medical Robotics and Systems at Energid. "Our technology will improve the quality of medical education in Asia and open new global business markets."
Sunnylife Global, in its quest to modernize Chinese hospitals, has recognized the value of this technology and plans to introduce it through their hospital network. "Sunnylife's agreement to purchase this state-of-the-art training software from Energid is consistent with its commitment to the local governments of China to upgrade their Level 2 hospitals to meet International standards", stated Richard Lo, President of Sunnylife. "We are pleased to have identified Energid and their unique engineering capability to provide solutions to accomplishing our goals."
