The IBM and Misys Express Solution for Healthcare Providers increases clinical decision support through the automation of many routine medical records management tasks, allowing physicians' practices to focus on patient care.


The solution complements the current operations of small and medium-sized physicians' offices and enables a familiar work flow and processes that decrease staff training time; delivers a faster return on investment for the practice and help improve the quality of patient care.

Previously, patients' paper charts were handled hand-to-hand - doctor to nurse to administrator - and back again as follow-up required. This type of system requires a significant amount of administrative time and expense to simply move or locate a chart before actual care can begin. In addition, this type of traditional records management system may result in overlooked data and delays or may hinder a doctor's ability to view comprehensive patient history in real-time during a visit.

These applications are combined with IBM System p5 Express servers, storage and middleware including the IBM System p5 Express servers with the IBM AIX 5L operating system, IBM system x236 server with the Microsoft Windows operating system, the IBM Informix Dynamic Server database, the Lenovo ThinkPad tablet PC, and optional IBM System Storage products.
