CapsuleTech releases DataCaptor 5.0 with plug and play generic connectivity

Paris 21 September 2006CapsuleTech, an expert in biomedical device integration solutions, has made available DataCaptor Interface Server 5.0, a significantly enhanced version of its connectivity system for integrating bedside medical devices into information systems.


DataCaptor Interface Server 5.0, which is the main component of CapsuleTech's product suite, provides increased performance, enhanced user configuration and improved troubleshooting utilities. In addition, DataCaptor 5.0 includes built-in support for 330 diverse bedside medical devices and plug-ins to all HL7 compatible Health care Information Systems such as Cerner's Millennium, Eclipsys' Sunrise, Epic's EpicCare, Philips' CareVue Chart and many more.

DataCaptor Interface Server is a software engine that collects data from medical devices, translates it into a common protocol such as HL7 and distributes it to Health care Information Systems. The DataCaptor Connectivity Suite also includes:

  • Software modules that perform data management, providing users the ability to choose the quantity and identification of the data they receive
  • Hardware components that allow device identification and physical connection of standalone bedside devices.
DataCaptor is FDA 510(k) cleared.
