Information Society to sign contracts with alliance of companies ATKOSoft, SingularLogic, Unisystems and ORCO for implementation of two projects
Athens 22 March 2007The Information Society S.A. has signed a contract with the alliance of companies ATKOSoft and SingularLogic for the Implementation of the project "Integrated Information System of the Merchant Seaman Healthcare Organisation". Before this, the company already signed a contract with the alliance of companies ATKOSoft, Unisystems, and ORCO for the implementation of the project "Provision of Training Services to the Regional Health Network of Cyclades" in February 2007.
The Information Society S.A., for the benefit of the Ministry of Mercantile Marine, signed a
contract with the alliance of companies ATKOSoft and SingularLogic for the implementation of
the project "Integrated Information System of the Merchant Seaman Healthcare Organisation", with a budget of 1.224.886,65 euro.
The main objective of the project is the development of an integrated information system for the
"Merchant Seaman Healthcare Organisation" (IISMS) that will cover the organisation's operational needs including management, financial, health, inspection etc. The evaluation of the system's correct operation will be performed by connecting in a pilot stage 10 branches of the Merchant Seaman Healthcare Organisation as well as several health care providers: 20 clinical doctors, 5 pharmacies, 5 diagnostic centres and 2 private clinics.
The Merchant Seaman Healthcare Organisation aims to a) provide Medicare and hospitalization
towards health protection and b) subvention of unemployed seamen and their families. Through
IISMS - in the Internet and extrovert environment, the Merchant Seaman Healthcare Organisation
provides the ground for future connectivity with all of the organisation's branches and regional offices as well as all co-operating health care providers towards interchanging information about all processes and operations of the Merchant Seaman Healthcare Organisation.
The system consists in three subsystems:
- Management and Financial Operations (subsystem 1)
- Health care and inspection Processes (subsystem 2)
- Multiclinic Operational Support including laboratory and radiology information systems
(LIS \ RIS) (subsystem 3)
ATKOSoft SA is to cover the implementation of subsystems 2 and 3, through providing and
adapting its aMedLine suite of hospital information systems. Moreover, ATKOSoft participates in
the project management and supply of installment, technical support and training services.
In addition, the Information Society S.A., for the benefit of the 1st Regional National Heath System (RNHS) of South Aegean, has signed a contract with the alliance of companies ATKOSoft, Unisystems, and ORCO for the implementation of the project "Provision of Training Services to the Regional Health Network of Cyclades".
The project aims to provide training to the personnel of the 1st RNHS of South Aegean for the
integrated health information system and its subsystems. Training activities cover the application of IT systems in the health sector towards supporting several business processes that require the knowledge of IT systems e.g. financial and business co-ordination, medical applications, laboratory applications, etc.
The training activities consist in theoretical as well as practical training:
- of the 1st RNHS in the use of applications of the Integrated Health Information System
that operates in the RNHS
- of the administrative personnel, including personnel of regional Health Centres, in the
administrative and financial subsystems
- in new processes and procurement practices (e.g. electronic transactions), accounting
systems, new codifications etc., emphasizing in such a way that these transactions are
incorporated into the business processes of health providers
- in the administration of medical record data
