The new integrated Access/MCN solution combines MCN's extensive library of nearly 600 competency assessment documents with the Access' Evolution (EVO) On-Line Forms, a web-based technology that creates forms by connecting directly to multiple databases. A commercially available version of this product will be available in the third quarter of 2007.

Stated Amanda Valeur, president and founder of MCN: "Implementation of a competency assessment programme and its documentation is a requirement of Joint Commission; this has historically been a manual inefficient process to keep track of staff development. Together MCN and Access will create new integrated processes to meet the needs of staff educators and human resource managers. We are very excited to partner with an industry leader like Access; they are a dynamic company that truly listens and responds to customer needs."

"We are looking forward to working with MCN", stated Tim Elliott, president and CEO for Access. "With more than two decades of experience in publishing educational and regulatory compliance content specifically for health care, they have an outstanding reputation. Together we will create a unique work flow solution that results in measurable benefits for our customers."

Access designs and markets computer software and hardware that enable paperless work flow systems throughout an enterprise. The company's flagship product, Patient Flow System Technology, supports applications such as electronic document distribution, forms automation, records management, and patient documentation security. Access' products are easily integrated into all Healthcare Information Systems (HIS) and are used by hospitals nationwide in the United States to help meet federal and state regulatory mandates.

MCN's StayAlert notification service will be available beginning March 11, 2007, the opening day of the AORN annual Congress in Orlando, Florida. AORN members will have complimentary access to relevant changes by Joint Commission and federal regulatory agencies. StayAlert is delivered via e-mail and will provide AORN members with information about new requirements as well as provide an explanation as to the potential impact of these changes.

"Keeping current with regulatory compliance changes is a daunting challenge", stated Amanda Valeur. "Last year alone, StayAlert published over 260 different regulatory announcements. AORN is an organisation that is committed to delivering real value to its members. I think we have created a unique service which will positively impact its members and we look forward to working with the AORN organisation."

"Stated Garth Jordan, Vice President, Member Experience, Sales and Marketing for AORN: "The StayAlert articles will aid in keeping our members well informed on relevant, current regulatory changes. AORN is constantly looking to provide additional value and new benefits for our members. We look forward to working with MCN, an industry expert in regulatory compliance issues."
