"Medicine compliance is complicated by the inability to read the prescription label with the result that people are at risk of taking the wrong prescription or the wrong dosage", stated David Aitchison, founder of Dignified Products. "We designed the Prescription Label Magnifier to help those who have difficulty with vision to better recognize and read their prescription drug labels."

A large percentage of the population takes medications on a daily basis. According to the AARP, 84 percent of adults aged 45 and older take at least one prescription or non-prescription drug. Many of the people in this age group suffer from Presbyopia which is the gradual loss of the eyes' ability to focus actively on nearby objects. This is a natural, but annoying part of aging. Unfortunately this increases the risk of medication related problems which include improper drug selection, the wrong drug usage, and under or over dosage.

Specific sections of the population are at increased risk of these types of medication related problems. These include seniors and their caregivers living at home or in community based settings as well as in assisted living and nursing facilities. This can add to the anxiety levels of family members who are often not around to supervise.

¬? "The explosion of the use of pharmaceuticals has created great health benefits for our society", added David Aitchison. "However there are also increased risks associated with taking prescription drugs. My hope is that the Dignity Prescription Label Magnifiers help to reduce these risks and add simplicity and confidence to those with a daily medication regime."
