With more than a decade of experience providing tools which help designers, engineers and researchers work with highly complex computer-generated data, the combined company is prepared to take immersive visualization into the next century, according to Dan Wright, president and CEO of Fakespace Systems Inc. The merger with Pyramid Systems creates an unbeatable team, with a well-deserved reputation for exceptional service and support, with the strongest product brands in the industry, and the world's largest installed base of immersive visualization users, as Wright states.

Fakespace Systems' broad product portfolio includes the Mini WorkBench, VersaBench and Immersive WorkBench projected image displays, the large-scale Immersive WorkRoom and Immersive WorkWall display systems and the award winning BOOM and PUSH direct view displays. Pyramid Systems is known worldwide for its popular CAVE spatially immersive display and the innovative ImmersaDesk family of visualization systems. Senior executives from the two companies have key roles in the management team and board of Fakespace Systems.

Jim Angelillo, previously president of Fakespace becomes vice president of strategic relations. Jim Hile, previously president of Pyramid Systems will become vice president of worldwide sales. Mark Bolas, who is a founder of Fakespace, will be a member of the new company's board of directors. The merger follows the recent formation of Fakespace Systems, a new member of the Fakespace family of companies, focused on the design, integration and installation of immersive visualization systems. The merged company has a mandate to build on Fakespace and Pyramid's strengths as total solution providers of immersive visualization systems, through direct sales, channel sales, system integration support, and increased business development in Europe and Asia.

Fakespace Labs, the other member of the Fakespace family, is focused on research and development of innovative display and interactive technologies, marketing of immersive peripherals, and contract R&D. Fakespace Systems and Fakespace Labs will work together closely to help define the direction of the immersive visualization industry and provide exceptional products which meet end-user needs. According to Mark Bolas, who is president and CEO of Fakespace Labs, the new Fakespace Systems/Fakespace Labs structure will let the research and development team concentrate on development of novel technologies and systems, as to advance the state of the art in the immersive visualization.
