The county council of Skane has decided to install the largest telemedical system in Sweden. Physicians from different hospitals all over the region will use the network to organise virtual meetings and to discuss patient cases with each other at long distance.

The Sun View magazine has announced that the Skane network will deal with the transmission of millions of x-ray images, journals and testing results. These data will be processed and stored digitally.

Current Web technology enables the Skane network to transfer any relevant information such as doctor's letters of introduction, in digital format between the various hospitals, specialist clinics and other medical care facilities connected to the telemedical system.
