It's kind of hard to imagine but some of you might still have some doubts about whether attending the first International Conference on the Telemedical Information Society really would be worth the while. Well, here is your last chance to shake off your scepticism and to join a fascinating discussion platform that will explore the tremendous potential of a revolutionary and creative approach to health care on the verge of the 21st century. Just be sure to be there in Amsterdam on this month's 21st !
The idea to organise this ITIS conference grew out of the Euromed project, a European Commission funded three year initiative to develop a new standard, referred to as "Virtual Medical Worlds", which utilises computer networking for advanced medical imaging diagnosis. Euromed has defined twenty structural building blocks in which to strongly anchor the concept of the "Virtual Medical Worlds". Together, they form the bearing shell for the envisaged Telemedical Information Society.
The ITIS'98 forum discussions will deal with the major issues to be taken in account for using the World Wide Web as the navigational medium by preference within the Telemedical Information Society. In turn, the invited speakers each of them will offer a detailed and expert presentation of the most important aspects, forming part of the global structure.
In this regard, ITIS'98 should be considered as the telemedical agora, as the public platform to exchange ideas and philosophies about the framework Euromed has been setting up to create the health care community of the 21st century. Virtual Medical Worlds Magazine has reserved a nice spot for all the practical details at the ITIS'98 Conference site. Why don't you satisfy your appetite and take a view?
