The world-renowned health care expert, Victor S. Dorodny, has been appointed as Director of Health Affairs for Aviant Information Inc., a systems integration and consulting services corporation. In this newly created function, Dorodny will offer tactical and strategic guidance in order to support the company's health care information systems customers. Aviant already combines an experienced staff of medical professionals as well as networking specialists to develop effective solutions which improve information access for health care organisations all over the world.

In the past, Dorodny has been cooperating with the Russian Health Foundation and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation as a special advisor for health and medical affairs. Russia as well as a number of other countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States were able to benefit from his enormous expertise in the fields of information technology, telemedicine and telehealth. Afterwards, he has founded TRI-PAC, a national patient-provider partnership organisation in the States to optimise patient care. Currently, he is still active as president of Health P.R.O. Worldwide Inc., a global health care consulting and system design company.

As a still practising physician, Dorodny constitutes an important added value for the Aviant Company which already can count on a large number of hospital administrators and medical business experts to meet the requirements of the hospital information system work flow. Their solutions will be fine-tuned by Dorodny's clinical experience as to make them optimally correspond to the needs of health care providers, care takers and patients.

Relying on Dorodny's profound expertise, Aviant Information Inc. will primarily focus on knowledge-based health information systems, the design and application of computer-based patient records systems (CPRS), the total quality management approach, and the statistical controls in medical, financial and business planning. In this way, the company hopes to even further expand its business services. Andrew Rushmere, president of Aviant, characterises the company's way of operating as a dynamic learning loop in which constant observation leads to continuous improvement of systems design and implementation to fully satisfy the customer.
