On May 6th latest, the Japan-America Institute of Management Science (JAIMS), a pioneer in intercultural management education, has organised a workshop on advanced technologies for successful medical marketing, to offer health care professionals, providers, and consultants a chance to meet two internationally renowned experts in marketing and research.
The JAIMS workshop was led by Mister Dick McDonald, managing officer of BVK/McDonald, based in Milwaukee. He was assisted by Mister Steve Steiber of Opinion Research Corporation International. Together with the participants, they discussed and analysed items, such as health care marketing trends, the impact of market globalisation, and the need for branding as well as gaining a stronger return on investment.
The invited workshop attendants consisted of medical staff from hospitals, public relations and marketing companies, accounting and law firms, state and county health agencies, health care provider facilities, and related health business fields.
In Hawaii, health care has lately become the second largest industry. There exists a growing will to share and promote the existing quality of health care, embedded in an integrated cultural environment, with the rest of the world, according to JAIMS president, Glenn Miyataki.
McDonald and Steiber, who is responsible for the health care market research division within the Opinion Research Corporation, have presented a similar workshop at JAIMS on May 7th and 8th, but this time for health care professionals from Japan. Last September, JAIMS has been launching its first International Health Care Management Programme for a number of medical professionals from Japan.
