IQ Holdings Incorporated, headquartered in Washington D.C., constitutes a newly traded public company. By means of its fully owned subsidiary, IQ Management, the company provides professional health care services and management support to commercial as well as government customers. As such, the United States Army has awarded IQ Management a multi-million dollar competitive contract with a supplementary option of four years. The health care support equally extends to telemedicine applications.

In the first instance, the new contract, valid as of August 1st 1998, stipulates the provision of radiology services to the Army's Fort Bragg in North Carolina, which hosts the elite U.S. Army's Special Forces. IQ is required to select, qualify and recruit direct care specialists, ranging from mammography technicians, over nuclear medicine and radiography experts to various other health care takers in affiliated specialities. The company will also offer typical patient services as well as equipment calibration and certifications.

The agreement involves all beneficiaries related to the U.S. Army, including the military personnel in active duty, the retirees as well as their families. IQ Holdings' President and Chief Executive Officer, Luis Quinonez, explains that the recruited personnel will offer services 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and equally during the holidays. Through the delivery of innovative health care service solutions via a competent and extensive staff, IQ hopes to enhance its visibility and to consolidate its position in the south east of the United States.

Naturally, the number of personnel will be increased as well as the choice of services in order to fulfil the contract. Currently, the company employs a 24 hour stand-by nursing staff for the emergency room at the medical centre. The army contract will be executed by IQ Management's offices in Augusta, Georgia. Among its U.S. government clients, the company counts the US Public Health Service, the Department of Defence, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the US Coast Guard.

IQ Management operates within five specialized divisions to offer mental health and direct medical speciality services, to provide ancillary health clinics, and to serve in a great number of related interdisciplinary areas, such as emergency air evacuation, telemedicine, and managed health care programmes. Today, the company has more than 600 employees in 39 different countries of the United States.
