It is with much sadness and regret that we report the death of Professor Ivan Krekule at his home on August 27, 2000. Dr. Krekule was a renowned biomedical scientist engineer and was a founding member of the advisory board of the ITAB conference series. He was also a member of the International Program Committee of the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society annual conferences for well over a decade. He is survived by his wife and two children and their families. Dr. Krekule will be very much missed by the members of the biomedical engineering community all over the world. We offer our deepest condolences to his surviving family members.
